Fiestas del Rincón del Obispo

Feast of the patron saint celebrated in May in honour of St. Joseph the Worker.

Rincón del Obispo, a district that is part of the administrative territory of the City of Coria, honours its patron saint with the celebration of religious festivals that coincide with the Feast of Saint Joseph the Worker and the International Workers’ Day. In this celebration of jubilation and rejoice, the traditional fighting of heifers and bulls adds distinction to the ancestral festivals.

A town located in the fertile meadows of the Alagón River, northwest of the province of Cáceres, which were declared areas of national importance (Zonas de Interés Nacional) by the Ministry of Agriculture and Public Works in 1954, and which later became colonised and transformed into productive irrigated fields through the National Institute of Rural Development and Colonisation within the framework of the General Colonisation Plan implemented during the period between 1952- 1975.
