Monfragüe National Park
Millenary landscapes of robust oak groves where raptors reign supreme.
This National Park and Biosphere Reserve, located by the banks of the Tagus River, is made up of thriving pasturelands that preserve the most distinctive species of the typical flora and fauna of the Mediterranean forest.
This vast green landscape of Extremadura is located southeast of the City of Coria, bordering the Alagón Valley region, where you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the surroundings and observe one of the largest colonies of black vultures in all of Europe perched on top of steep craggy hills, along with the occasional black stork and abundant griffon vultures, nesting in the thousand- year-old holm oaks that inhabit the park, some pairs of Spanish imperial eagles, in addition to the impetuous Iberian lynx.
