Other festivities to enjoy

If you seek to enjoy a good atmosphere and the company of good people, the City of Coria has several other plans up its sleeves to suit your tastes and priorities. With the arrival of the pleasant spring season, it transforms into a scene of religious festivals and celebrations. During the Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Argeme, patron saint of Coria and its Diocese, the cheerful pilgrims can delight in an excellent day in the countryside, with good beer, food and entertainment in the vicinity of the site where her monumental Sanctuary stands.

On the other hand, the rural beauty of the peaceful and welcoming colonial white towns invites you to participate in some truly exceptional religious festivities of their patron saint, such as the Fiestas of Rincón del Obispo, in honour of St. Joseph the Worker, in early May, or the Fiestas of Puebla de Argeme, in honour of Our Lady of Argeme, in mid-May, combining popular and rural traditions with festive and gastronomic celebrations.

With the advent of summer, the Feast of Corpus Christi—in which the presence of the Body of Christ in the Eucharist is commemorated—is a prelude to the traditional Fiestas of San Juan, celebrated in honour of St. John. With its power to generate a massive congregation of the locals, it has become a major religious festival of the city.

Finally, in late February or early March, the Carnival Celebrations bring in the spectacle of joy, colourful costumes and music, as locals and visitors claim the streets to enjoy the festive atmosphere.

So, what’s keeping you from exploring unique experiences and sharing your special moments with us? The City of Coria awaits you… Come and Feel it!
