Beira Baixa

Cross-border landscapes where nature is found in its purest form.

Paisaje natural de suma belleza constituido por la Sierra de Peña García, el curso bajo del río Tajo en el que se ubica el Parque del Tajo Internacional, y las generosas Tierras de Idanha-a-Nova. These natural landscapes of great beauty are formed by the Sierra de Peña García, the lower course of the Tagus River where the Tagus International Natural Park is located, alongside the generous Lands of Idanha-a-Nova. These spaces make up three of the main environmental niches of this Region located to the west of the bordering City of Coria, contiguous with the Alagón Valley region, where, outlined by the Portuguese border, nature is found in its purest form.

This remarkable cross-border territory brings together an important historic-artistic legacy, cultural and culinary diversity, popular traditions and an ideal setting for adventure or nature-based tourism through boat trips across the waters of the Tagus International Natural Park.
