Le trac\u00e9 (1732) et la direction des travaux (1733-1740) furent confi\u00e9s au c\u00e9l\u00e8bre architecte Manuel de Larra y Churriguera. En 1739, furent plac\u00e9es la croix et la boule de fer au sommet de la lanterne, dor\u00e9es par Bernardo Carpetano. Le serrurier Juan Arias Lancho ajouta la girouette con\u00e7ue par Ignacio Lordelo. Quant au jeu des cloches (XVIIIe-XIXe si\u00e8cles) : la \u00ab gorda \u00bb, la \u00ab sermonera \u00bb, la \u00ab alcahueta \u00bb et les \u00ab pascualejas \u00bb, elles ont un son magnifique. Cependant, le 1er novembre 1755, le tremblement de terre de Lisbonne causa de graves dommages \u00e0 la fabrique de la cath\u00e9drale, la tour \u00e9tant r\u00e9par\u00e9e par l&#8217;architecte Pedro S\u00e1nchez Lobato et les ma\u00eetres Ventura Araujo et Fray Jos\u00e9 de la Sainte Trinit\u00e9 (1756-1760).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-5
