Ce ne fut qu&#8217;en juin 1142 que le roi de Castille et Le\u00f3n Alphonse VII l&#8217;empereur (1126-1157) reconquit Coria et restaura d\u00e9finitivement le si\u00e8ge \u00e9piscopal en la personne de l&#8217;\u00e9v\u00eaque \u00cd\u00f1igo Navarr\u00f3n (1141-1156) et accorda \u00e9galement, par privil\u00e8ge royal, la fondation d&#8217;une nouvelle cath\u00e9drale d\u00e9di\u00e9e \u00e0 Sainte Marie. Un privil\u00e8ge portant le sceau du roi qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 confirm\u00e9 des ann\u00e9es plus tard, en 1261, par un autre roi de Castille et Le\u00f3n, Alphonse X le Sage (1252-1284), \u00e0
