Ouvrage d&#8217;ing\u00e9nierie militaire, situ\u00e9 au nord-ouest de la muraille romaine sur une autre fortification pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente entreprise par les Templiers au XIIe si\u00e8cle, elle pr\u00e9sente une figure irr\u00e9guli\u00e8re en pentagone, comme un avant-bec, qui ressort de l&#8217;enceinte fortifi\u00e9e, et dont l&#8217;\u00e9laboration fut r\u00e9alis\u00e9e en pierre de taille granitique parfaitement sculpt\u00e9e et \u00e9quarrie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"margin-bottom-50\">La tour est compl\u00e9t\u00e9e par le d\u00e9nomm\u00e9 populairement \u00ab Castillejo \u00bb : un petit corps cr\u00e9nel\u00e9 intramuros dans lequel est situ\u00e9 la porte \u00e0 entr\u00e9e coud\u00e9e, \u00e9quip\u00e9e d&#8217;un pont-levis. Elle \u00e9tait d\u00e9fendue au moyen d&#8217;une tour casemate circulaire et pourvue d\u2019un superbe foss\u00e9 aux proportions \u00e9normes, trac\u00e9 par Tom\u00e1s Bret\u00f3n en 1473, aujourd&#8217;hui partiellement visible. Surmontant d\u00e9corativement l&#8217;ensemble du complexe fortifi\u00e9, nous pouvons voir une corniche \u00e0 cr\u00e9neaux de boules ou de pommeaux log\u00e9s dans des arcs aveugles sur des cannes qui entoure tout le p\u00e9rim\u00e8tre des remparts de style gothique final ou isab\u00e9lin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-5 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1
