Majestically rising above what was the southern section of the ancient Roman City Walls\u2014right on the edge of the ravine that once saw the still waters of the Alag\u00f3n River flow\u2014stands this grandiose temple constructed with fine granite ashlar masonry. Its layout is a huge rectangular nave, as a grand hall, measuring 17 m wide by 25 m high, which is divided into five vaulted sections with star-shaped ribs.
