Hasta las puertas de Coria, devast\u00e1ndola y asolando sus campos, lleg\u00f3 el general Junot al top\u00e1rsela en su camino en la campa\u00f1a de sometimiento llevada a cabo sobre la regi\u00f3n de Extremadura, en 1811, durante la Guerra de Independencia (1808-1813).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mas, no ser\u00e1 \u00e9ste el \u00faltimo enfrentamiento que tuvo que padecer esta milenaria ciudad pues, tras la abolici\u00f3n de la doctrina absolutista en favor de las revolucionarias ideas liberalistas decimon\u00f3nicas, Coria y su partido vivieron los infortunados episodios de la Guerra Civil Espa\u00f1ola (1936-1939). Sin embargo, la historia actual nos revela ahora otros datos m\u00e1s alentadores de esta ciudad que empez\u00f3 a caminar hace milenios sabiendo aglutinar, su pasado hist\u00f3rico, con un presente din\u00e1mico y emprendedor, para convertirse en un n\u00facleo atractivo y floreciente que busca, en la industrializaci\u00f3n y el turismo, su despegue econ\u00f3mico definitivo al objeto de impulsar y mejorar el estatus socioecon\u00f3mico de la poblaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-5 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex
