These huge gates are reminiscent of the Roman domination and presence in the territory.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A symbol of power that is also manifested in the majestic 15th-century <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/turismocoria.es\/turismo\/en\/sights-you-absolutely-shouldnt-skip\/castle-of-the-dukes-of-alba\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"8147\">Castle of the Dukes of Alba<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, constructed in place of a Templar fortress. Its elegant Torre del Homenaje, or the Keep, stands out from the rest of the fortified complex as an emblem of the dominance of the lords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coria\u2019s stones are steeped in history that can also be contemplated through the illustrious <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/turismocoria.es\/turismo\/en\/sights-you-absolutely-shouldnt-skip\/cathedral-of-st-mary-of-the-assumption\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"8151\">Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption<\/a><\/span><\/strong> (Catedral de Santa Mar\u00eda de la Asunci\u00f3n), a 15th-century Visigoth- Romanesque construction that was a symbol of hierarchy in the 18th century. The <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/turismocoria.es\/turismo\/en\/sights-you-absolutely-shouldnt-skip\/museum-of-the-cathedral-of-coria\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"8159\">Cathedral\u2019s Museum<\/a><\/span><\/strong> for instance, is home to an excellent collection of religious art, in addition to other precious and interesting artefacts, the most remarkable being the<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/turismocoria.es\/turismo\/en\/the-sacres-tablecloth-of-the-last-supper\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"7829\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sacred Tablecloth of the Last Supper<\/span><\/a><\/strong> On the other hand, the <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/turismocoria.es\/turismo\/en\/sights-you-absolutely-shouldnt-skip\/museum-exhibition-of-the-royal-prison\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"8155\">Museum Exhibition of the Royal Prison<\/a><\/span><\/strong> houses the history, archaeology and ethnography of the municipality in its renovated prison cells, transporting you to the past and present eras of Coria\u2019s culture and tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The narration of a story that comes out as equally fascinating is that of a peaceful and secluded cloistered space, the 16th-17th-century <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/turismocoria.es\/turismo\/en\/sights-you-absolutely-shouldnt-skip\/convent-of-the-mother-of-god\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"8166\">Convent of the Mother of God<\/a><\/span><\/strong> (Convento de la Madre de Dios), where the incredible religious confectionery comes to life through an extensive collection of recipes of artisan sweets.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In short, all of the attractive sights that will catch your attention, including the one that stands farther away from the old town. Nestled in a beautiful location that looks out onto the meadows, next to the cliff that traces the Alag\u00f3n River, is the 17th-18th-century <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/turismocoria.es\/turismo\/en\/sights-you-absolutely-shouldnt-skip\/sanctuary-of-our-lady-of-argeme\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"8174\">Sanctuary of Our Lady of Argeme<\/a><\/span><\/strong> (Santuario de Nuestra Se\u00f1ora Virgen de Argeme), patron saint of Coria and its Diocese, that beautifully combines architectural elegance with scenic
