XVI-XIX)<\/em><\/h1>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns margen-izquierdo-50 margen-derecho-50 margin-top-50 is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-2 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><strong>Yacimiento arqueol\u00f3gico de los vetustos recuerdos del reposado silencio monacal franciscano en la Ciudad de Coria.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fundaci\u00f3n de D. Fernando \u00c1lvarez de Toledo (1507-1582), Duque de Alba, en 1561, a instancias del Obispo D. Diego Enr\u00edquez de Almansa, prelado por aquella \u00e9poca de la Di\u00f3cesis de Coria (1550-1565), que fue desamortizado a mediados del siglo XIX y del que actualmente solamente restan m\u00e1s que sus ruinas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"margin-bottom-50\">Edificio monacal del que se tiene constancia que estuvo pr\u00f3ximo al existente acueducto, de posible factura romana, cuyo aspecto debi\u00f3 ser bastante alterado por las reconstrucciones llevadas a cabo en \u00e9pocas posteriores, como lo corrobora Antonio Ponz en su obra \u201cViage de Espa\u00f1a\u201d; mientras que la obra de suministro, que estuvo en uso hasta el siglo XIX debido al posterior estado de abandono de la ca\u00f1er\u00eda, nac\u00eda su curso al noroeste del n\u00facleo urbano en el paraje conocido popularmente como \u201cLa Madre del Agua\u201d: un manantial cercano a la poblaci\u00f3n que muy bien pudo abastecer de agua a la antigua Caurium romana, y, desde aqu\u00ed, segu\u00eda su camino bordeando el Convento de San Francisco y la parte septentrional de la Muralla,hasta las proximidades de la Puerta de San Pedro, abasteciendo de agua a las fuentes ubicadas en el Arrabal de San Francisco y de la plaza Mayor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-5 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure
