style=\"font-size:17px\"><strong>Portona Este de la Muralla Romana declarada Monumento Hist\u00f3rico-Art\u00edstico Nacional, el 3 de junio de 1931.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Puerta del Carmen (E), tambi\u00e9n denominada en otras \u00e9pocas de la historia como Puerta Nueva por su trazado en \u00e9poca Moderna (siglo XVI), debi\u00f3 posiblemente su apertura o modificaci\u00f3n como consecuencia de las necesidades de comunicaci\u00f3n existentes con el antiguo Arrabal del Carmen, en cuyas inmediaciones existi\u00f3 la hoy desaparecida Ermita de Nuestra Se\u00f1ora del Carmen, advocaci\u00f3n de la que toman nombre tanto el arrabal como la mencionada puerta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"margin-bottom-50\">Estructuralmente, cortando los sillares de la Muralla, se constituye, sin duda alguna, en la puerta m\u00e1s sobria de las cuatro conservadas, mostrando simples arcos de medio punto de ingreso achaflanados cubiertos al interior con b\u00f3veda de medio ca\u00f1\u00f3n enfoscada a base de mortero de cal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-5 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure
