XVI-XX)<\/em><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns margen-izquierdo-50 margen-derecho-50 margin-top-50 is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-2 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>De antiguo dep\u00f3sito de grano a revitalizado refugio del lector dentro de la Ciudad de Coria.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este edificio de almacenaje de origen \u00e1rabe, y documentado ya en el siglo XVI, form\u00f3 parte de los propios del municipio para servir como dep\u00f3sito y compraventa de granos y otros cereales. Desde entonces, ininterrumpidamente, se habla de su organizaci\u00f3n y servicio lindando por su derecha con el primitivo Consistorio Viejo y enfrente con la Iglesia de Santiago; atribuy\u00e9ndosele, a mediados del siglo XVIII, 15 varas de largo por 13 de fondo, seg\u00fan describe el Catastro de Ensenada, adem\u00e1s de contar con dos pisos en altura como nos recuerda la Visita de la Real Audiencia de Extremadura de 1791.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un inmueble que, debido a su buena planta, se dedic\u00f3 en ocasiones como Ayuntamiento en virtud del mal estado del principal, llegando incluso a servir, a veces, para la celebraci\u00f3n de algunas diversiones p\u00fablicas, as\u00ed como centro educativo de adultos de tipo municipal. En la actualidad, como puede apreciarse, ha sufrido una total transformaci\u00f3n conserv\u00e1ndose, \u00fanicamente, restos arquitect\u00f3nicos y her\u00e1ldicos de la antigua fachada, adem\u00e1s de dos salas abovedadas y un coqueto aljibe; pasando a convertirse como Biblioteca P\u00fablica Municipal dedicada al escritor Rafael S\u00e1nchez Ferlosio derivado de su vinculaci\u00f3n con la
