I)<\/em><\/h1>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns margen-izquierdo-50 margen-derecho-50 margin-top-50 is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-2 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><strong>Defensas militares erigidas durante el Imperio Romano declaradas Monumento Hist\u00f3rico-Art\u00edstico Nacional, el 3 de junio de 1931.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De la importancia de la ciudad en \u00e9poca romana, da testimonio su fortificaci\u00f3n defensiva militar levantada durante el Alto Imperio Romano (siglo I), presentando la planimetr\u00eda de su trazado la forma de un trapecio irregular a base de s\u00f3lidos muros de siller\u00eda gran\u00edtica aparejada siguiendo el sistema tradicional de soga y tiz\u00f3n en sus frentes y reforzados interiormente por una gruesa capa de hormig\u00f3n de unos 3 metros de espesor, que son defendidos, a intervalos de 20 \u00f3 30 metros, por veintitr\u00e9s potentes torres cuadradas o cubos que rodean su per\u00edmetro total (1065 metros), de unas seis hect\u00e1reas de extensi\u00f3n, adapt\u00e1ndose sus lienzos a los desniveles topogr\u00e1ficos del entorno llegando a sobrepasar en ocasiones los 4 metros de anchura, mientras que la altura oscila entre los 10 y los 14 metros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"margin-bottom-50\">Grandes muros defensivos que protegen su contorno, al que se accede a trav\u00e9s de cuatro enormes portonas de ingreso: <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/turismocoria.es\/turismo\/lugares-que-no-te-puedes-perder\/murallas-romanas\/puerta-de-san-pedro\/\" data-type=\"page\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Puerta de San Pedro<\/span><\/a> <\/strong>o <strong>del Sol<\/strong> (siglo I), al norte; <a href=\"https:\/\/turismocoria.es\/turismo\/lugares-que-no-te-puedes-perder\/murallas-romanas\/puerta-de-la-guia\/\" data-type=\"page\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">de la Gu\u00eda<\/span><\/strong><\/a> o <strong>de la Ciudad <\/strong>(siglo I), al suroeste; <a href=\"https:\/\/turismocoria.es\/turismo\/lugares-que-no-te-puedes-perder\/murallas-romanas\/puerta-de-san-francisco\/\" data-type=\"page\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">de San Francisco<\/span><\/strong><\/a> o <strong>del Rollo<\/strong> (siglo XVI), al noroeste; y <a href=\"https:\/\/turismocoria.es\/turismo\/lugares-que-no-te-puedes-perder\/murallas-romanas\/puerta-del-carmen\/\" data-type=\"page\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">del Carmen<\/span><\/strong><\/a> o <strong>Nueva<\/strong> (siglo XVI), al este; atestiguando el dominio y la presencia romana en el territorio. En definitiva, pese a las alteraciones sufridas a lo largo de su dilatada historia y a los distintos episodios b\u00e9licos de esta tierra de frontera, las Murallas Romanas de Coria son, probablemente, unas de las mejores conservadas, en su conjunto, de todas las halladas en el resto de Europa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-5 is-cropped
